Video Park Client Update 4 SEPT 97
Total audio control with Video Park's new audio suite
A new digital audio suite has just been put on line at Video Park, Baton Rouge. Based around an eight track digital audio workstation,we can offer unlimited generations, 100 layers per track, 12 hours of track time, automated mixing, outboard effects and digital compression and limiting.
You can cut and paste, add effects and then automate your mix for lay back to video. The suite can do it all with our Network Production music and Valentino sound effect libraries.
Video Park has developed a non-linear digital picture playback locked to the audio. It makes spotting effects a breeze with the audio workstation.
Our Genelec 1031A near field monitor speakers are fantastic and our RPG sound treatment makes the room perfect to mix in.You hear the speakers, not the room.
Your audio radio and television problems are over! Our rates are only$85 per hour and include our announce booth with the Neumann U-67 microphone and video sync playback. Call Video Park today for a tour. You can also see what the room looks like on our website at www.videopark.com.
Rachel Edits National Spots
Ashland Oil Company is the latest client is use Video Park's Avid editor,Rachel DiResto. The fantastic film footage shot by Buckholtz Productions made editing a breeze. In fact, Rachel was able to pull an additional :20 spot within the allotted off-line time. An extra spot for free! Jimmy on-lined the spots at NOD with Rachel supervising
Picadilly Cafeterias used Rachel's talents to edit five new film spots for the regional corporation. Gus Weill, Inc.'s LeAnne Weill and Tom Buckholtz loved the work Rachel did. The spots that Lee on-lined in E-2 should start airing soon.
Use the Hammer
We've fine tuned the post production process to make your editing faster, better and cheaper by using equipment specifically designed for a specific task. We don't "force" equipment to job that it was not tailored for.
You can hammer a nail with a pair of pliers but the job is easier, faster and better if you use a hammer. We've found some suppliers that don't own a hammer are trying to convince clients that it's OK to use the pliers. The wise clients know better.
We can show you that it is cheaper to off-line on our Avid and then on-line in a digital suite. You save time and money. At the same time, we can be creating an off-line while we are on-lining, creating graphic elements with the Quantel Hal, mixing audio and typing supers. All with equipment designed to be task specific. That saves time... and that saves money without sacrificing quality.
Lower Prices
Clients love our lower prices in Baton Rouge. We stopped charging clients for equipment they weren't using and are just billing for the machines that are actually in use. Over 90% of the sessions cost less, some almost half as much!
Give Lee or Park a call and let them explain how charging just for what you use saves you money. You buy just what YOU need...what a wonderful concept!
Hal Update
Transform effects will be added to the Hal this month. Known as TFX,it creates particle animation effects and transitions that can only be described as stunning. This type of effect transitions are not available anywhere else in Louisiana.
In addition to TFX, the Paintbox inside the Hal will add Bravo brushes, creating paint effects to still and moving images. Again, these treatments are some you are not familiar with since they are so new. Ask Sarah if you can stop in for a peek.
We've also extended the disk drives on the Hal to 6.5 minutes of uncompressed 601 video. No else has this real-time capacity. We can now layer more clips at once, giving you the ability to see more elements in preview and make changes easier.

The new rate for the Edit Two room is $125 per hour. That rate includes the Chyron iNFiNiT! with triple frame buffers and Transform, two channels of ADO DVE, one channel of Impact, the digital switcherand the digital audio board. VTRs are additional with D-2 and Digital Beta VTRs going for$75 per hour, while 1" and analog Betacam VTRs for $50 per hour. This means the cost for an audio layback to D-2 is $200 per hour while an edit session with two D-2 and one Beta SP VTRs is $325. Remember, this rate includes three channels of digital effects and a Chyron iNFiNiT! character generator with Transform. Power like this is simply not available anywhere else in Baton Rouge.

Video Park was the first company in Louisiana to install Sony's Digital Betacam. We've had the machines over two years at our New Orleans location. We've now added the format to compliment the most complete editing facility in Baton Rouge.
